Highlights for Entertainment Technology Press on stand 91 in the Green Hall at ABTT Theatre Show are the launch of two new titles.
Miscellany of Lighting and Stagecraft
by popular industry figures Michael Hall and Julie Harper
This title will help schools, colleges, amateurs, technicians and all those interested in practical theatre and performance to understand, in an entertaining and informative way, the key backstage skills. Within its pages, numerous professionals share their own special knowledge and expertise, interspersed with diversions of historic interest and anecdotes from those practising at the front line of the industry. As a result, much of the advice and skills set out have not previously been set in print. The editors’ intention with this book is to provide a Miscellany that is not ordered or categorised in strict fashion, but rather encourages the reader to flick through or dip into it, finding nuggets of information and anecdotes to entertain, inspire and engender curiosity – also to invite further research or exploration and generally encourage people to enter the industry and find out for themselves.
Rock Solid Ethernet (third edition)
by lighting control expert Wayne Howell, which has been completely revised and re-designed.
Now in its third edition, Rock Solid Ethernet is aimed specifically at specifiers, installers and users of entertainment industry systems, this book will give the reader a thorough grounding in all aspects of computer networks, whatever industry they may work in. The inclusion of historical and technical ‘sidebars’ make for an enjoyable as well as informative read.
These will be included in a display of over 70 industry-specific titles which include Durham Marenghi’s Lighting the Diamond Jubilee Concert which was first published for launch at PLASA last September.
